F.A.Q.
Who do you think you are?
A mere mortal on this journey of life helping those I can as I seesaw between the healing arts and other art forms.
I graduated from the cinema school at University of Southern California. I am a professional WGAw screenwriter. For most of my adult life, I have worked with clients as a bodyworker. I was also graphic and web designer for many years. I have spent thousands of hours in meditation and lots of time at Esalen Institute. I had a Northern California-based indie rock band. We opened for The B-52s. That was a thrill. Burning Man has informed my life in wonderful ways. I make short films in my free time. My last 2019 short won several festival awards. I'm making my first dark comedy feature now. It's about sexual desire, intimacy and food. I guide a daily meditation group. (Come join us!) Yes, it has been a diversified creative life, but I always return to the healing arts. I feel particularly adept at helping people realize how wonderful they are—just the way they are—and leading them to self-love and acceptance. It's my vocation and I am passionate about it. I am a Sex, Intimacy and Relationship Coach.
What happens if we grow attached, develop a sexual attraction and/or fall in love?
We get to bring it to the table, baby! These are all beautiful feelings and we will explore them thoroughly if they arise. Unlike most therapeutic processes, we will be practicing intimacy and it is not uncommon for attachments and desires to develop. It can actually be a very positive thing if they do.
Do you work exclusively with gay men?
No, I work with all humans.
As a queer/gay man I market to my demographic so my bi, gay & queer clients know—in no uncertain terms—that they will feel safe and understood in a world that can so often lack understanding. That said, my training and work benefit men and women of all sexual orientations.
Does Sex, Intimacy and Relationship Coaching really work over Zoom?
100%! To the surprise and delight of many—including myself—the efficacy and potency of the Somatica Method translates brilliantly onto video chat. The pandemic showed us this and it has been confirmed by countless colleagues and teachers. For me personally, one of the wonderful benefits of working online is my ability to connect with clients from all over the world. As in any relationship, when searching for a coach, it's essential to find resonance. As the unique beings that we are, sometimes the guides, healers and teachers we seek simply cannot be found locally. Video chat offers us the ability to work with the perfect practioner no matter the distance.
Is Covid-19 your first pandemic?
Actually, it's my second—but, truthfully, it does feel like my fourth. Having lived through the AIDS epidemic and having experienced a dark night of the soul and a spiritual awakening in my formative 20s, I am no stranger to dances with my mortality. I also had a successful brush with cancer in my 40s. All were transformative initiations into what it means to be human. I may have some perspectives that you might find helpful.
How long do you see your clients?
The number of sessions required depends entirely on the goals of each client. Some clients see me weekly, bi-monthly, for occasional spot checks or occasionally once to resolve a specific issue. I do not offer packages. If my services fail to offer value you can stop seeing me any time with no hard feelings.
What kind of oddball name is Fudo?
Kirk is my given middle name and Fudo is a nickname that stuck during the years I went to Burning Man and fronted my rock band. (Check out this 2013 music video to see me performing with my band.) Ask me about the origin story of Fudo, and, depending on my mood, I just might tell it to you. ;-)
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes! I offer some reduced rates. Contact me and let’s discuss.
